I was reading the blog of Sarah Miller, trying to catch up on what I missed in her exciting life, when I read about her Disney Literature Challenge and got so excited I had to come over here and post about it. 07/03: Book

07/02: Office Bullies

I am a fairly low key person. I am passive about most things and I don't like to get into fights or be confrontational. That can make it very difficult when dealing with an office bully. What makes a grown person want to behave like a 10 year old scrapping on the playground? I have absolutely no idea. It's painful to watch. And it's awkward to deal with. Really, I"m sort of at a loss. Another office friend suggests just being aggressive and standing up to her one time so she gets the message that I'm not a pushover. I think she's probably right. That doesn't make me want to be aggressive about it, though. Why do some people need drama to be happy? Arg!

07/01: Article at ATG

This month's article at All Things Girl is quite possibly the best article I have written and had published to date. Go see!!

06/27: Happenings

So, my article for All Things Girl will be out on Tuesday. I am especially proud of this one. I think it's probably the best article I've done for them to date. It's about our road trip with Marley. Go check it out if you've got a moment.

Other exciting goings on: I sent a sample of my writing to Petfinder. It may wind up in their library if they decide they like it. I'm very excited about that.

Jon and I adopted a black Labrador puppy. His name is Professor Pickles and you can read more about him at Critter. I'll be updating the site at some point with more stuff about him. I just haven't had enough time yet.

My writing is going slowly as always, but at least it's going for a change. That's always good :) Probably a lot of that has to do with my current interest in the famous writers of the 1920's. Very inspiring to read about Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Edna Ferber, Dorothy Parker, Gertrude Stein, Edna St. Vincent Millay, etc. A good book to check out is Bobbed Hair and Bathtub Gin.

06/19: Corporations

Here is a good website. It's an interview with a guy about corporations. To me, this is just more reason to buy locally.

06/17: Knowing When To Move On

I think when you begin to feel apathetic about your job, it may be time to get a new one. It's a disservice to your profession and yourself to stop caring about whether or not you're doing a good job. And who wants to live like that? I don't want to dread work every day. And I don't want to feel negative when I'm at work. It's a waste of time.

06/13: Weddings

You may be wondering why I haven't finished up the wedding column. The answer to that is, I can't stand to write about weddings any more. You get really sick of them after awhile. I'm trying to pass the column on to someone else, so the articles may continue. But don't hold your breath. I'm having a lot of fun writing about pets. I'm excited about my July article coming out. I think it's one of the better things I've written for All Things Girl.

05/18: Vacation and Home Again

We headed off on vacation at the end of the week before last. We went to Maine to visit my husband's family and then we drove down into Cleveland, OH to visit a good friend and my husband's grandma. But this trip we decided to take our cat, Marley. You can check out Marley's roadtrip adventure at Critter. I have some cute photos too. Lots of cute photos, actually.

Why is it that going on vacation makes me inspired to write? I am not even joking, I had thoughts for like 5 different books. One was a broadway play, actually, so maybe it doesn't count as a book. Today I am going to set up a work space for myself so I can work more easily and get some of these inspirations out on paper.
